Children know it all.
There's nothing we can teach them.
All we can do is figure out what is
the best way to give them what they need
to grow into the persons they want to be.

HOW HAPPY BUNCH WAS BORN

Cristina Oliva-Klos, Founder and Executive Director of HAPPY BUNCH, is the proud mother of two children of seven and five. Cristina has a degree in psychology from the University of Michigan. She has also worked as a teacher assistant at the University of Michigan Children Centre for Working Families where she fell in love with the multicultural environment, the caring for children, and the ambition to inspire and guide unique human beings and help them find their place in society.

She is married to a German whom she met in the United States. At home they speak English, Italian, and German. After having lived for most of her adult life first in the United States, then in Germany and since four years in Italy, she soon realized the need for bilingual schools outside of bigger cities like Milan, Como and Varese to provide for the educational needs of international families like her own, but also of typical Italian families that wish to offer their children an educational program which looks at the future and responds to the needs of an ever more European and International society.

Inspired by what she sees as a wonderful but realistic dream, the founder decided to face the Italian bureaucratic difficulties to change her life, that of her children and that of all the future citizens of our dynamic world. Cristina is guided by the passion for teaching and research in the field of psychology, and is moved by her curiosity for the new dynamics that identify, develop, and enrich the unique aspects of individuals in early childhood, one of the most critical phases of child development which goes from birth to the end of the preschool years.

The founder and her team hold an ambitious, but realistic, aim at starting a new generation of schools which will respond to the real needs of our society, not only Italian, but always more European and cosmopolitan.
